Requesting journal articles & book chapters (available worldwide)
If you are unable to visit the library because you are self-isolating or studying at home, you can use the Distance Learners Document Delivery Service to request a copy of a journal article or book chapter, or to request a book to be sent to you by post (UK and Ireland addresses only).
If you are a Distance Learner you may request a scan of a book chapter or a journal article from Library holdings to be emailed to you. We can also obtain copies of chapters from books or journal articles we do not have in stock from other libraries on your behalf. We are unable to post books that have been borrowed from other Libraries.
If you prefer a paper photocopy please tick the 'paper copy' option on the form, though note that this can delay your receiving the item.
If you request an article/book chapter that is available online, we will advise you by University email. If it is impossible for you to use the electronic version, please make sure you tick the paper copy option when completing the request form.
Please complete the online request form as fully as possible. Note that you will be required to complete a registration form the first time you make a request.
When using this service you must allow for time delays for supply of items. If you are working to a tight deadline please contact your Faculty Librarian or their team for advice on possible alternatives.
If you have any questions or queries about this service, please email email@example.com or phone 023 9284 3228
