Introduction to Law

Library resources for law are structured somewhat differently to other subjects.  While most other subjects separate their sources only by publishing format, such as into books, journals and conference proceedings, legal information resources are all considered to be either "primary sources" that comprise actual laws or "secondary sources" that comprise the commentary surrounding the law.

More information on finding, understanding, using, and referencing legal information together with contact details for the Law subject team are available from the Law subject page.  The Law subject team are happy to advise anyone studying law, whether for their entire degree or just a single unit; if you get lost in Law, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Almost all the legal sources you use will be online!
