You can work anywhere over most computer networks and still enjoy access to all our electronic Library resources over the internet, including the Discovery Service. The Discovery Service will ask you to tell it you are a student at the University and to log in. It uses the same login details as Moodle and the computers on campus.
Some resources you access may also ask you to log in when you try to read the full text of articles and ebooks. You can save yourself having to log in each time by installing the VPN on your computer. This is entirely safe, involves a simple, reversible, one-time set-up, and will make working away from the University campus much easier.
Anyone studying away from the university campus. This includes students registered on a distance learning course, students who have difficulty using the physical library for any reason, those on placements or on holiday, and those who prefer to study elsewhere.
