We are pleased to report that the contractors have completed this work early, and so we will be able to restore normal access from when we open on Thursday 19 July.  There should be no further noise disruption from now onwards.  Thank you for your patience.

Due to the size and weight of the steel supports for the bridges which are being installed tomorrow and Thursday it is necessary to block access to the walkway from the Fire Exit at the Ravelin Park end of the building to the edge of the student lift in the Atrium to provide a safe environment for the work and for those using the building.  Work to erect barriers around this area begin on the afternoon of Tuesday 17 July.

Access to the Postgraduate Suite and to the toilets at this end of the building will be via the corridor past the open access computer rooms OA 1-4, which opens near the Library Café.

For the duration of the works, it will also be necessary to close off access to the bridges on the first and second floors.  For this reason, the lift in the Atrium will also be unavailable for the next two days.  Anyone with mobility problems is welcome to use the lift in Area 0A near the Support Services Desk.

If you have any questions or concerns, please ask any member of library staff.
