We are now accepting interlibrary loan requests for material in any format. Services are still constrained because of the IT disruption and adjustments because of the COVID pandemic, but we will do our best to source what you need.

We cannot obtain any printed books at present but we are still accepting interlibrary loan requests and wherever possible will obtain electronic access to any article or book you require.

We regret that the British Library is no longer able to supply scanned articles by interlibrary loan until further notice.  We will instead obtain electronic articles from publishers, where possible, but this is likely to take longer than our traditional interlibrary loan process.

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.

Existing interlibrary loans

If you have an interlibrary loan book issued to you currently, this will automatically renew until the Library building re-opens.

New interlibrary loan requests

It will no longer be possible to request entire printed books and journal issues by interlibrary loan until the Library building re-opens.  We will instead procure ebook copies of any book requested, wherever possible.

We intend to continue to supply scans of journal articles from the British Library.  The British Library are operating a reduced service and delivery times are expected to be longer than usual.
