Portsmouth access to libraries (PAL)

PAL is a special agreement between the public and University libraries in Portsmouth which will enable you to use our shared resources for lifelong learning. Whatever your reason for wanting to learn, the wealth of information to be found in libraries in Portsmouth will help you succeed.

Where to start

Just visit your nearest library and friendly staff will help you find the resources you need. Whether you're taking a course or simply want to follow up an interest, the opportunities for lifelong learning are there - why not take them?

You can join the public library at nine sites throughout the city. There is no membership charge and most of the services are free.

You can use the resources at the University Library free of charge. However, if you would like to borrow materials then you'll need to become an external member.

To join you will need to show some identification confirming your name and current address.
