Listed below are some specialist e-resources that are bought by the University that you may wish to explore.

Specialist e-resources

• Bloomberg  (in Library only) 

As well as the Bloomberg Suite in the Richmond building, there are 3 terminals on the first floor of the Library, which are available during our extended opening hours.
NOTE: These machines cannot be booked.

• Datastream  (in Library only) 

For masters or dissertation students, this is a very powerful database with financial and economic data from around the world.
It is available through AppsAnywhere (on campus).
Use is limited to two simultaneous connections at any one time. Try again after 15 minutes if unsuccessful at first.

Key facts and statistics for every country in the world, plus very useful, background essays by country experts covering the contemporary history, politics and economics of each country. There are also background essays on international and regional organisations. The statistics are searchable and let you create comparative charts across countries.

• S&P Capital IQ not in Discovery 

S&P Capital IQ offers deep global company information, credit ratings and market research with tools for risk assessments. It provides access to both real-time and historical information on companies, markets, transactions and people worldwide. Some investment reports on Companies available. Similar to Bloomberg but web-based and available off-campus.

Access to more than a million statistics from many different sources. Useful for finding industrial, economic and consumer market statistical trends. Statista take their information from many different providers across the world. Do look at the real source of the material they offer you.

Websites

Government department working with UK-based businesses to ensure their success in international markets.

Provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 185 economies and selected cities at the subnational and regional level. Useful for those contemplating doing business abroad.

The official website of the Union contains several useful services.  See in particular the Market Access Database giving information for companies both exporting into and out of the EU and the Doing Business in the EU section.

Find useful reports and links to other fairtrade bodies.

A global trade portal offering international import/export trade leads, events and country reports.

• globalEDGE 

Is a portal that aims to connect international business professionals worldwide to a wealth of information, insights, and learning resources on global business activities. Contains useful country profiles. 

General pages provide country information and statistics. Investment pages of particular interest.

HM Revenue & Customs Trade Statistics unit web site providing UK Trade statistics data.
