Specialist e-resources

• Bloomberg  (in Library only) 

Remember as well as the Bloomberg Suite in Richmond there are 3 terminals on the first floor of the Library – useful with our extended opening hours but these machines cannot be booked for use.

• Datastream  (in Library only) 

If you are a masters or dissertation student, you may want to use Datastream – a very powerful database with financial and economic data from around the world. It is available through MyApps (ie anywhere on campus). Use is limited to two simultaneous connections at any one time. Try after 15 minutes if unsuccessful at first.

Featuring books, papers and statistics from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the gateway to OECD’s analysis and data.

Find and exploit a huge amount of market and socio-demographic data from countries round the world. Explore country profiles, consumer markets, industry and company information.


Provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 185 economies and selected cities at the subnational and regional level. Useful for those contemplating doing business abroad.

The official website of the Union contains several useful services. See in particular the Market Access Database  giving information for companies both exporting into and out of the EU. Also useful section on Doing Business in the EU

Find useful reports and links to other fair trade bodies

A global trade portal offering international import export trade leads, events, country reports and links to 8,000 international trade (export import) related Websites.

Is a portal that aims to connect international business professionals worldwide to a wealth of information, insights, and learning resources on global business activities. Contains useful country profiles. Explore Global Resource Directory for useful links and a glossary of terms.

General pages provide country information and statistics. Investment pages of particular interest.

HM Revenue & Customs Trade Statistics unit web site providing UK Trade statistics data.
