Attention Covid-19 adjustments to Library services

ebooks: video transcript

Each year the Library purchases more and more electronic books so if you are unable to get hold of a print copy, you can often read an e-book online instead. They are available via a number of platforms, so e-books don’t all look the same. In order to read e-books, you may need to use software such as Adobe Reader or install a plug-in via your browser.

You can find print books and e-books side by side on the Discovery Service and the library catalogue. You can search for all or part of a title, author, publisher or simply just with subject keywords. Choose ebooks from the left hand options to just see ebooks in your results list. Click on the title of an e-book to bring up its full catalogue record and then on the online access link to read the full e-book.

Some e-books can also be downloaded to mobile devices for off-line reading. You might be asked to log in. Full details about logging into e-resources is available in another video and in Library guides. Please ask Library staff for assistance if you have any questions about e-books.
