Cloth artist's book created with sewing and textile arts

Crafting@Lunch is a joyful initiative led by Emma Rogers, member of the professional services team in the CCi Faculty. It offers a weekly opportunity for members of staff and friends of the Faculty to get together for a relaxing hour of craft, conversation and biscuits.

Emma says,

"Crafting on your lunch break has been proven to reduce stress, encourage mindfulness, boost creativity, promote a sense of calm and provide opportunities to connect. With this in mind, a group of staff has been meeting for weekly 'Crafting @ Lunch' sessions, during which we've worked on a range of projects including crochet, embroidery and felt work."

We are proud to display some of the work here in the University Library’s first floor display cabinet with the intention of inspiring others to have a go themselves. Alongside the craft works, some of which are still in progress, you will see some books that either inspired the work or could offer new challenges for the crafters. Some of these books are available to borrow and you will find plenty of other inspirational books on the library shelves.
