Blended and distance learning mean different things to different people. Some people live two streets removed from the Library but never visit, while others are studying in a different country and can only use our electronic resources. Happily, we have solutions for everyone, regardless of how you like to study or where you happen to live.

Find anything online

Everyone can use our eresources online 24/7, wherever they live.  Search the Discovery Service for access to search across the majority of our electronic resources or pop over to your Subject page for a walkthrough of the entire research process, from first steps to final references.  Your subject page is also where you will find all the most specialised resources for your subject.

Get scans by email and books by post

We can email you scans of book chapters and journal articles we only hold in print.  Simply request them through our Document Delivery service. If you live in the UK, we can even post books to you (provided you are happy to post them back!) using our Postal Loans service

If you live near to another UK university library, you might be able to use that library’s books and study facilities, and even connect to their wifi to access our electronic resources as if you were working on our campus in Portsmouth! Check out the SCONUL Access scheme and find out if this might help you.
