Dementia Carers Together is introducing a structured programme of six information, advice and support sessions for adults caring for someone with dementia as well as those currently going through the diagnosis process. The sessions bring together trusted information, facilitated discussion, peer connection and local signposting, to help carers feel more informed, connected and confident in their caring role.  This is the first time they have run this programme and so are really keen to hear from participants about how well it met their needs and how they could improve it further.  The course is free and anyone caring for someone with dementia is invited along.

Over the course of six sessions, we will explore key topics including:

  • rights before and after diagnosis
  • navigating care and support services
  • financial rights and benefits
  • living with dementia
  • advocating for the person you care for
  • planning ahead
