We are continuing to upgrade our computer network on Thursday-Friday 19-20 February. We expect brief intermittent disruption to the computer and Wi-Fi networks during the day on both days. Any disruption should be limited to daytime (no work is expected to take place outside of 8 am - 6 pm) and so both the computer and Wi-Fi networks should work normally overnight.
Recommended precautions
Only brief, intermittent network disruption is expected. During the daytime on 19-20 February, when the network is being upgraded, we recommend that you:
- save a copy of anything you plan to edit in the Library beforehand
- save your work regularly
- check your work has saved properly before you finish.
Alternative open access computer suites are available on campus, if you prefer to work elsewhere while this work is carried out.
Looking ahead
We expect the third and final phase of our local network upgrade to take place the following week. This will involve a similar pattern of brief, intermittent network disruption. We will share full details as soon as they are confirmed.
