Starting university brings many new and exciting experiences and challenges. Initially you are kept very busy finding your way around the campus and meeting new friends, but during the quieter times it’s natural to feel a little homesick. So why not find comfort with a classic children’s book or find a new favourite from our fantastic collection of Children’s fiction from around the world.
On display in the University of Portsmouth Library Atrium is a small selection of books from the Outside In World Children's Books in Translation collection. This is a prestigious compilation of international books that are translated from their original language into English. The complete collection is situated near the Library Café, on the ground floor, for easy access for all our visitors.
We actively encourage the collections to be used to support research and teaching at the University of Portsmouth and in the wider academic world, and for community outreach work. The books in this collection can all be borrowed by students, staff and our external members and if you would like one from the display in the glass cabinets, just ask one of the friendly team at the front desk.
