Please do not try to sleep in the Library.   The Library is a place for study and research, and we require everyone in the Library to use the space as it was intended.

  • Your wellbeing is best supported by a healthy routine with regular meals, exercise, and sleep.  For this reason, we actively encourage clients to take breaks and return to their accommodation to sleep properly, rather than napping in the Library.
  • At busy times, desk space in the Library is limited.  Leaving to sleep at home frees up study space for others to use.
  • If staff believe you are sleeping, they will wake you after a time to check you are well.
  • If you are found sleeping in the Library repeatedly, staff may refer you to the Student Wellbeing Team, contact your academic tutor, or take other actions, including temporarily restricting your access to the Library building.
