Ordnance Survey Maps

The Ordnance Survey (OS) withdrew the fee-based education licence “Reproduction of Ordnance Survey mapping for educational purposes”.

We are now required only to accept the licensing terms and conditions associated with the Digimap service, to which we subscribe. You should consult the Licencing FAQs for details.

The licence allows you, for example, to incorporate Ordnance Survey data into academic works and presentation materials, to distribute copies to other Authorised Users, and to include mapping images in printed promotional literature.

Maps are treated as artistic works so, for all non-OS mapping, copying is not permitted under copyright law unless you have permission or a licence from the copyright holder.
