Looking for something to read?

Your Lecturer is the person who can best recommend the essential reading for your unit check out their recommendations in our reading list database which you can search by unit number title or look for your degree course and check the units for your specific level.

If you are a new Distance Learner with Criminology do please check out our pages especially for you, particularly the Accessing Electronic Resources page.

If you are new to Law in particular you may want to look at a separate list of guides and tutorials Getting Started with Law which we feel might be useful if you are studying law for the first time.

We also recommend the following general reference tools which may help if you are are more experienced but looking for a place to start your research:-

  • Copac - merged online catalogues of of many major University, Specialist, and National Libraries in the UK and Ireland
  • Credo reference - online reference collection including full-text content from subject specific titles to discover useful sources for your literature review
  • SUNCAT - locate serials held in libraries throughout the UK
  • ZETOC - electronic table of contents from the British Library to locate specific journal materials which may be local to you
