The Library Café provides a welcome change to formal study and offers a variety of hot and cold snacks and drinks to help you sustain your attention levels.
Expect a friendly and efficient service with a diverse menu, quality products, and prices to suit all budgets. The menu has a lot to offer from curries to sandwiches, and salads to paninis and hot pastries that can tide you over until the next study break.
Relax in a well lit, comfortable seating area and watch the world go by through a wall of glass or take your snacks outside and dine al fresco.
Opening hours
The Café is run by Catering Services and so the café opening hours may differ from those of the Library.
Library cafe
The Library Cafe provides a welcome place to relax and socialize to break up your studies and refresh yourself. Services is fast friendly and efficient offering high quality food and drink at good value for money. A mixture of tables and seating makes the cafe comfortable and relaxing.
The menu has a lot to offer from hot pastries and a large selection of sandwiches and snacks to teas and coffees that can tide you over until the next study break.
When the Cafe is closed there are vending machines that offer hot and cold drinks and snacks. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Vending machines
Vending machines still offer a variety of snacks and hot and cold drinks whenever the Library is open. If you want something more than water whenever the café is closed, you can just head around the corner past the café and around to the right to find the vending machines tucked away out of sight in their cosy little alcove.
Microwaves
You are welcome to heat your own food using the microwaves provided. Please consume any hot or potentially messy foods in the café area and use the spray cleaner and cloths provided to keep everything clean and hygienic.
If you are bringing food and drink into the Library, please follow our food and drink policy to keep the Library a clean and pleasant place for everyone to study.
Water bottle refill stations
Staying hydrated is vital to your good health, so we always make sure fresh water is available on tap at all times. You can refill your water bottle for free at any of the Library water bottle refill stations:
- outside the foyer toilets at the front of the building
- beside the Library Café, near the Relaxation Corner
- near the toilets at the end of Area 2B on the second floor
You can also ask for hot or cold water from the café when it is open. You may need to pay a small charge if you ask for a disposable cup or hot water.
