Journal content can be found by searching Discovery or a number of our other databases for the topic or article title you are looking for.
If you are looking for a specific journal title you can also look for this on Discovery. But if you’re not sure of the exact title, the Publications search page on Discovery will list the ejournal titles we have that match your results. You can normally then search the articles within that publication or follow the links to browse the issues.
The Publications page also allows you to browse our ejournals by subject area.
Print journals are not currently included on the Publications page, so you will need to check the Library Catalogue or Discovery to find details of our print journal holdings - you can use the search button at the top right corner of this page.
Ejournals
Almost all our journals are available online and the Library holds electronic copies of journals both past and present. You can look at ejournals at home and on the University Campus. They are available via the Library catalogue and can also be found through the Discovery Service where you can search for ejournals by subject. Journal articles can be downloaded as PDFs for printing and offline viewing on mobile devices.
Your subject pages have useful suggestions for ejournals relevant to your course. These are useful ways to get started with finding relevant information. If you can’t find a journal online, remember to check the Library catalogue to see if we have a print version available. If we don’t have an article you need in either print or electronic format then you can request it via the interlibrary loan service.
Print journals in the Library
As well as our extensive electronic journal holdings the Library has many journals in print that you can consult when you come in. On the catalogue just type in the name of the journal you need then check the holdings to see what copies we have in stock. Occasionally we will have an imperfect run which means we don't have all the copies but the catalogue record will show you which ones we do have.
All print journals can be found in alphabetical order on the top floor. You can use them for reference purposes or photocopy the article you need but please be aware of copyright restrictions when you do so.
If you can't find a print journal remember to check the Library catalogue to see if we have an online version available. If we don't have an article you need in either print or electronic format then you can request it via the interlibrary loan service.
