Wells, Andrew (2019) VR: the quest for new realities. (unpublished BA dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth

Abstract

The following report has been written as a means of demonstrating the levels of research and production processes that went into the realisation of the artefact. It will begin with the methodology, where the levels of research methods and project management will be approached and assessed. This will be followed by the research itself, including analysis of academic books and interviews with VR experts. Documentation of the pre-production and production processes will then be provided to demonstrate the research coming into the artefact and justification of design choices. The report will end with a conclusion of the project; this will feature an evaluation of the artefact itself which will assess whether or not it has fulfilled its aims. The artefact is a short promotional animation designed to inform and gain the interest of potential undergraduate/postgraduate students towards the many projects and developments that have led to virtual reality as it is known today.
