Current University Publishing Agreements

The University's Open Access publishing or read and publish agreements (often referred to as Transformative Agreements) provide University researchers with the opportunity to publish Gold OA across the range of journals that a specific publisher produces.

These are sector-wide agreements, and they are intended as already-paid-for APCs.  Depending on the specific terms and conditions of each agreement, if the University is signed up to an agreement with a publisher then Gold OA comes either at no further cost to you, or at a discounted cost (if the latter, then the remaining cost of the APC still needs to be met).

Typical eligibility conditions:

(i) You must be the corresponding author and have a current contractual affiliation to the University of Portsmouth

(ii) The article type should be either a research or review article

(iii) The specific journal the article is submitted to must be in scope of the publisher's agreement.

As the Library has paid to be part of those agreements, we do encourage University researchers to use them where possible.
