Englebright, Dominic (2019) Reconstructing Megatherium Americanum: how biological accuracy can aid artistic clarity. (unpublished BSc dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth
Abstract
The aim of this study will be to reconstruct a Megatherium Americanum using the knowledge gained to potentially aid artists functional understanding of biology. This study will reconstruct Megatherium Americanum using available methods and techniques whilst identifying and potentially bridging gaps between academic knowledge and artistic application. There will also be an attempt to transition traditional 2D artistic reconstructive methods to the less explored* 3D process. The study will also likely prove useful to anyone attempting to reconstruct a Megatherium (or similar species) as the current resources available are severely limited.
