Stitson, James (2019) Challenging the effects of explosive destruction through visual representation. (unpublished BSc dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth

Abstract

This project seeks to not only challenge the capabilities of the 3D software Houdini in creating physically accurate explosive destruction simulations, but to also investigate whether this can be implemented into real time footage to create photo realistic cinematic imagery. This artefact pursues the techniques used from the Houdini simulations right through to advanced compositing work taken place in The Foundry’s Nuke.
