Bamford, Joseph (2019) What is the biggest threat to linear sports broadcasters, and what are they doing to stay on top?. (unpublished BSc dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth
Abstract
Following the pragmatic research method, this study will look into different threats that traditional sports broadcasters face in the future, which of these threats pose the biggest danger to these broadcasters and what they are doing in order to stay ahead of their new competitors.
Using a mixture of secondary and primary research provide an insightful look at what current broadcasters are doing to cement their position at the top of the sports broadcasting market. Several changes to the market could dismantle linear broadcasters ruling the market, as they always have. These changes will be assessed to find which one poses the greatest threat to broadcasters.
Three of the biggest threats to sports broadcasters are included within this study, however, through research provided, one risk will be found as the greatest threat to broadcasters
