Abstract
The purpose of personal branding differs from traditional reputation management. Much like a business, the individuals professional career is defined by their brand. Today, the competitive nature of graduate roles makes it essential for individuals to differentiate themselves. This dissertation demonstrates how an effective personal branding design and implementation strategy can achieve both measurable and professional results in terms of career progression within for the individual. Personal branding materials such as a social media page and business cards have been produced to illustrate the effectiveness of a strong brand image on an individuals success; this was demonstrated in the results of this project which include the designer achieving high levels of growth and engagement on social media, as well as invitations to job interviews for their desired role as a result of the branding being included in their CV and Covering letter. These findings highlight the importance of graduates differentiating themselves as a brand in order to stand out from their competitors in highly saturated job markets.
