Abstract

This study will be looking into the representations of Islam in television, specialising in British factual television. It will be taking a deeper look on the progression of representation since 9/11 as well as compare and contrast examples from before and after the terrorist attack. This research will attempt to see how factual television examples have effects on audiences of different age, race and religion inclinations, with observations from both questionnaires and focus groups/interviews. Lastly, this study will verify the understanding of the impact such television has had on the general public and their view of Islam.
