Kelly, Tom (2019) In The Mood: what are the factors that have prompted a resurgence of jazz in the UK?. (unpublished BSc dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth
Abstract
The aim of this project is to research into the recent resurgence of jazz in the UK and then to identify the factors behind the reawakening of this musical genre. This paper will cover the viewpoints of those who are directly involved in the UK jazz scene as well as other people and organisations with external viewpoints on the subject area. This study will also discuss other more sociological reasons behind the resurgence of UK jazz and eventually this project will aim to analyse each factor identified through primary and secondary research, and will state to what extent each factor has contributed to the resurgence of UK jazz.
