Abstract

Cultural competence and anti-racist social work are commonly used within social work practice. Especially in direct work with ethnic minority service users. Nevertheless, do social workers understand and feel comfortable using these concepts in practice? This literature review aims to focus on social workers understanding and comfortability in the area of cultural competence and anti-racist social worker with ethnic minority service users. The author carried out a critical appraisal and found eight relevant research articles to help answer the question. To add to this, the author completed a thematic analysis of these articles and discovered seven results/findings(themes) in relation to the question. These results/ findings were discussed and explored through wider research. The author completed the discussion conclusion, recommendations and limitations for the review. Lastly, the author completed the dissemination plan and dissemination to share the findings of this study.
