Rushe, James (2021) Understanding the key drivers in the increasing crime rate and falling prosecution rate of fraud in England and Wales. (unpublished BSc dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has inflicted unparalleled damage on economies worldwide (OECD, 2020). Prior to the outbreak, global markets had been in a state of anomie with severe economic uncertainty, disruption on trade agreements, and debates on free movement and nationalistic protectionism being topics of perpetual media attention (Congressional Research Service [CRS], 2021). Yet, in the wake of the pandemic, employees have found themselves displaced from traditional working environments, and businesses of all sizes are now tasked with responding to a situation that has changed the landscape of trade globally (McKinsey & Company, 2021).
