Abstract
Content Management Systems are at the forefront of modern web design practices. They play an integral role in the design and hosting of websites, web applications and web properties alike. The practice of web design is in a continued state of flux. The ever changing principles that many designers are subject to bring about new design methodologies, best practices and technologies. Whilst one may align a successful web experience with good design, it’s imperative to determine what ‘good design’ entails. This report investigates current trends in web design across SME websites based in the UK and design trends globally. The project sees a CMS web artefact created in line with predicted trends and user testing, concluding with a trend forecast for 2022-2023.
