Abstract

The aim of this paper is to outline monetization practises that are purposely exploitative in free-to-play games. Three forms of monetization have been selected due to their popularity and their potential for manipulation. Following this is a look into the responsibility of companies to self-regulate as well as what has to happen if they do not. This is in the form of legislative change, looking at what bases legislation has and what forms have been implemented already
