Abstract

This research project consists of a Spanish to English translation of the first 2,000 words of the second chapter of the fiction novel Sotavento written by Rebeca Stones. Firstly, the methodology is discussed along with the research of relevant academic literature, followed by the examination of some particular challenges that were encountered throughout the translation process as well as the approaches that were taken in order to solve them.
