Abstract

This report provides an analysis of the creation of prop assets for a client’s horror game for Unreal Engine 4. Creating these assets requires the understanding of certain production pipelines used in the games industry by professional artists, as well as the quality benchmark that modern games show and using them as a guide to reach. Creating these assets requires the use of; modelling in Autodesk Maya, sculpting in ZbrushCore, authoring materials in Substance Designer, texturing in Substance Painter and finally implementing into Unreal Engine 4 as game-ready assets ready to be delivered to the client. Included is the research of different methodologies used in the games industry and applying one in communication with my client throughout the project. A conclusion is finally made as to how well I worked with my client, a review of the pipeline, technology and methodology used, as well as a personal reflection of my experience during this project.
