De Luna, Leila (2023) How gaming can be beneficial and detrimental to your mental health. (unpublished BSc dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth
Abstract
This study will be focusing on identifying what the effects of gaming on our mental health are. Since gaming is becoming more and more popular each day, we cannot avoid that there are a lot of factors that can affect our mental health without being aware. The aim of this research is to help understand how it can be good when done in moderation and how it can negatively affect us in certain circumstances while also listing a couple of popular effects both positive and negative. Aiding the research to reach a conclusion I will conduct my own primary research by carefully creating surveys and finding the right participants and range for my study. Mixed method research was what was used to gather data for this study. Gaming can have both effects on mental health but it solely depends on an individual reaction , discipline and knowing their limits when it comes to gaming.
