Barrett-Danes, Frederick Jonathan (2023) Exploring the design, creation and implementation of game audio. (unpublished BSc dissertation), University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth

Abstract

In this project I aim to advance my personal portfolio for use after university. Developing my skills further in game development is important in an industry which experiences rapid innovation. Being able to grow and follow this is essential to being successful in the industry. In this artefact I wanted to explore an area of game development I find personal interesting being that of audio development. Audio development is a diverse and fascinating subject that plays a key role in the user experience of a video game. In this report I will explain the art form as it currently stands, document the development and assessment of my artefact and reflect on process used during development. It was my goal to outline and create audio assets at an industry standard for an individual developer and create a functioning game world for them to take place in.
