Abstract

This Research Project involves translating and creating subtitles for the Spanish interview with Rigoberta Menchú Tum, titled ‘Enseñanzas de Rigoberta Menchú, la nieta de los mayas’, published by BBVA Aprendemos Juntos 2030. It is accompanied by a commentary that discusses the process of creating the subtitles and evaluates the challenges encountered during the translation and subtitling process. This work draws upon a range of parallel texts and academic literature, and demonstrates the translation strategies that were used to produce a suitable translation.
