Abstract

This research project involves translating a Spanish crime novel by author Mario Mendoza into English, accompanied by a commentary. The commentary focuses on analysing the challenges encountered during the translation process, including cultural, historical, linguistic and environmental differences. The inherent complexities of translating a novel involving graphic elements such as violence and sensuality add an additional layer of difficulty to the project.
