How to request an interlibrary loan or scanned copy of a book chapter or journal article

When you search the library catalogue and find no results, you have the option to request an interlibrary loan.

Alternatively, you can click this direct link to the interlibrary loan request form.

You must log into your library account in order to use this service. Log in using your library number (8 digits, found on your student/staff card).

Under Item type, select from the drop-down menu:

The system first checks to see if we hold the book/journal in the library catalogue, so at this stage you only need to put in the details of the whole book/journal. If you are looking for a book chapter or journal article, you can put more details in at the next stage. Fill in as many details as you can and click Search local holdings.

If you are requesting a book extract or journal article, you can add information like the chapter title or article title on this page.

You must tick the box to confirm that you agree to the terms of the copyright declaration, then click Confirm item request.

You should see the confirmation that your request has been sent.
