Listed below are some specialist e-resources that are bought by the University that you may wish to explore.

Specialist e-resources

This fantastic resource has captured UK terrestrial TV and radio programmes from 1998 onwards for anyone in UK universities to watch for free. You can create playlists and clips to embed in presentations, as well as putting in requests for recording. Look out for all the useful documentaries. (Not available to anyone outside the UK.)

• British Standards Online  (in Library only) not in Discovery 

A database which provides details of tens of thousands of current, draft and withdrawn standards from the UK's national standards body, the British Standards Institution (BSI).

A variety of reference works, including dictionaries, which tutors may well prefer to Wikipedia, and it even tells you how to set out a reference to what you find. Try out the 'Mind Map' option to see how your keyword links to others - useful for essay planning and dissertation work (use the arrow next to Basic Search to get to it).

Online books all about SAP and other areas.

Provides peer insights from across the information technology sector along with reports on new trends in blockchain/bitcoin, AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing and much more. 
Useful for technology but also includes reports covering talent and change management in HR, financial growth and marketing and sales.


The leading professional body for UK IT professionals.  Contains policy papers, blogs and videos on topical issues.

A useful portal containing information about Europe’s strategy, progress and vision for the digital age.  Find funding opportunities, press releases, progress reports on a wide variey of topics ranging from improving digital literacy through to cloud computing.

• GreenBiz 

Aimed at providing news and reports to aid the greening of business, and includes a section dedicated to Computing and IT.

UK online magazine aimed at providing "insight and analysis for IT leaders" and useful for industry news.

UN Agency for ICT. Useful for information on global standards and statistics
